A full English or Continental breakfast is offered daily for our guests. You are welcome to order what you wish - breakfasts tend to be bountiful and totally filling! You may also order a traditional Sri Lankan ‘Hopper’ breakfast or Coconut Pancakes.
We feature quick snacks such as pastas, sandwiches, toasties and salads that we aim to prepare and serve to your table within 20 minutes. Ideal for a speedy lunch in the middle of a busy day’s sightseeing in Kandy.
We can prepare with a selection of scones, cakes and local pastries along with a large cup of freshly brewed Ceylon tea in a decorative tea-set. A quiet spot on the lawn is especially prepared for our guests.
The kitchen team is delighted to offer a choice of two set menus on a daily basis. The 3 course menu each evening always includes a Sri Lankan Rice And Curry option. Another set menu offers an optional Asian Fusion or Western dining selection.
The Elephant Stables ‘Rice And Curry’ usually consists of some 10 – 12 separate dishes including a choice of chicken, mutton, pork as well as rare and unusual Sri Lankan vegetables. It is a pleasure for the kitchen team to cook separately for anyone wanting highly flavoured, spicy curries with a high chili content that is a typical feature of a Sri Lankan diet.
Master Chef Indika has over 40 Fusion dishes in his portfolio. These include Thai Green and Red Curries, specially prepared seafood dishes featuring crabs, prawns and lobsters, roast chicken, beef and pork as well as smoked salmon. Desserts include our delicious Chocolate Lava Cake and a selection of Home Made Ice Creams.
Kids’ meals are specially prepared, especially where spices and chilies need to be moderated. Our A La Carte Menu includes a variety of ‘chips with everything’ dishes including burgers, fries, sausages, baked beans and some very healthy salads too!
With some advance notice, we will be pleased to offer specially tailored meals including vegetarian meal options, Halal food and gluten-free meals. Guests are welcome to discuss menus and meal preferences with our Head Chef at any time.
